According to Theobald begun as an adaptation of Corneille's Antiochus; should be compared with LeFebre's Les Amours d'Antiochus, Prince de Syrie & de la reine Stratonique (Amsterdam, 1679).

p.v: "History", a term justified p.ix-xii with respect paid to the liberties the author took when adapting his history. The reader has to judge whether the conjections are appropriate.
Romance set in antiquity. Hitsorias are sometimes mentioned. Love story of the title page heroes Tigranes and Arsinoe. Theatrical with a good ammount of dialog, historical with the index to individual actions within the main plot.
