Pound, Pond, Pfund, Livre, Lira, Libra. Highest unit of account in serveral currencies, usually implying a divison into 240 pennies or denari - regularly without finding its own coin. The usual abbreviation is lb. for libra, the English pound sterling has acquired the £ grapheme.
